What is Chemi's Momo?

"Honestly, I never thought I’d start a momo business. I was just making them at home like I always have—for my kids and close friends. But everyone kept saying, 'Chemi, you have to share this!' It was always at the back of my mind but never came to fruition. But with the support and guidance from my son and friends, I thought... lets do it?! The response has been overwhelming. My vision is to grow it into something beautiful—sharing a little piece of my culture, one momo at a time."

After many years of encouragement from family and friends, Chemi's Momo was born with a simple goal: to share the flavors of a dish that’s been a beloved staple in our home.

Crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and rooted in traditional Tibetan recipes, our momos bring comfort, culture, and community to every bite.

Each one is a taste of home—made with love, honoring authentic Tibetan flavors, and adding my unique, playful twist!

"Tried Chemi’s Momo at the Lygon Street Market and WOW—flavor bomb! I’d never had Tibetan food before, and now I’m obsessed. We came back three times because my kids kept begging for more. Chemi and her sons’ passion and heart truly shine through in their amazing food."

Our Past Events

New Years Festival - Tibetan Buddhist Society Melbourne

We had a beautiful start to the Tibetan New Year, sharing our momos with the Tibetan Buddhist society community! It was an honour to provide catering for the ordained, serving them with love and gratitude as a small offering of appreciation. Throughout the day, our stall was filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of freshly steamed momos. Whether it was your first bite or your tenth, we’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by and made Chemi’s Momo part of your celebration.

Lygon Street Market

Our very first time at the Lygon Street Market—and what an unforgettable experience it was! The community welcomed us with open arms, curious palates, and so much kindness. We were blown away by the love for our handmade Tibetan momos, and even more touched by the stories, smiles, and second helpings! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a kind word, or simply took a moment to try something new. We truly felt the heart of the Lygon Street community, and we can’t wait to be back!

Holi Festival Melbourne

What a vibrant and heartwarming day at Holi Fest! We were so honoured to be part of this celebration of color, culture, and community. It was a joy to serve our Tibetan momos to such an energetic and diverse crowd—some folks even came back three times! The love, the laughter, and the rainbow of colors made it a day to remember. Huge thanks to everyone who visited our stall, shared kind words, and embraced us with such warmth. Holi was truly a festival of joy—and we’re grateful to have shared it with you, one momo at a time.
